A field to add captions to images ?

Hello everyone,
I'm new to Bludit, I'm looking for a field in the administration interface to add a caption to images. For example the name of the author of the photo. But I have the impression that this field doesn't exist, am I wrong?
In my theme I'd like to add an HTML element <figcaption> and be able to dynamically insert the authors' names under their images.
Can anyone help me with this?
