Sorry if this has been answered before... I did a bunch of searches on this forum but couldn't find it.

Is there a way to add links in the "Footer text"? (Settings -> General -> Footer text) I tried <a href> as well as [url=] methods but nether worked.

You cannot use links in the field "Footer text". You have to hard code it in the template with the footer area.
