Writing to homepage itself

Is there a particular theme that will allow me to write directly to the homepage.

What do you mean with directly to the homepage? Do you mean posts or a page?

I found it under settings>general>advanced>predefined pages

The home page was just linking to other posts. I believe that setting allows me to make a post the home page.
