contact3 Mail cannot be send

hi there,
I am new here and testing bludit. I have installed the plugin contact3 and it is added to one of my site. all necessary settings are set, but I just getting a failure after submit the send-button. faultstring : Es ist ein Fehler beim Versenden der Mitteilung aufgetreten. Bitte versuchen Sie es später noch einmal. ( in english : There was an error sending the message. Please try again later. )
I tried with and without my SMTP settings.
Do anybody have an idea why Mail won't be sent ?

Concernig PHP mail() please ask your hoster if it is enabled.

Concerning SMTP perhaps this topic helps:

Are there any errors in the log file of the server?

Thanx alot, it works. I took other settings from another Mailprovider for SMTP. Thats it !
