should the install.php file be removed/deleted after successful installation of Bludit please?
Also how do we know if any plugin or theme updates become available, will this be notified in the dashboard?

There are no problems, if the file is not deleted.
Not at the moment. But normally there is no need for updates for example for security reasons.Also how do we know if any plugin or theme updates become available, will this be notified in the dashboard?
