Disappointed...

I am really disappointed and I tell you why:

I was looking for a lightweight flatfile CMS and I was happy to find Bludit.
I joined the "PRO"-level

I started.

• admin panel: ok, clear
• themes: there are some, but: no real information, some links broken etc.
  nearly no documentation to find, no configuration: footers, headers
• plugins: as with themes: no documentation, nearly no configuration
• support: forum seems to be dead, no reactions, nearly no solved problems
• Documentation: poor

My conclusion:
This is a a CMS which defines itself as Simple, Fast, Secure, Flat-File CMS
I see it as a platform for clairvoyants with year-long patience for getting questions answered or problems solved

For me a waste of time.

Yeah...

Latest stable release is v3.22.0, with same things with new look in admin panel.

But I'm with you about plugins and themes... it is complicated keep using it if you need minimal things of today.

And does it measure up to that? I certainly find that it does.

And if you look at the bottom of the page it shows "Total members 1371". It is seriously not Wordpress with many millions of users. It is a niche CMS – that is pretty cool but, yes, could do with more user-friendly stuff. The forum is slow – but not impossible. As a small time developer, I have to say that putting stuff together, testing it and such is time consuming and documentation can be a bit of an after thought. And think of a small admin trying to keep the whole thing afloat (eg. recent plugin-page blip, etc.).

It is free and open source so I generally think 'what can I offer in return?' You have contributed some money and that is appreciated. Thank you.

I somehow feel your point but also feel that it's rather difficult. It's a small community (not even sure this term does apply here at the moment), it's a small project built by (as far as I see) mostly one single developer, and apparently a lot of people keep on using this the way I do - keeping Bludit more or less in their "things" but essentially building stuff around to match their needs, modifying plugin or even core code and keeping this as a platform to run whatever stuff they want to do. Yes, there are some things that are annoying (worst of these being paying for third-party "pro" plugins and yet seeing there's no support or no continued development whatsoever), but still I feel like staying "here" because all other options out there seem even "worse" (as in heavier, more complex to get started, more difficult to handle well). Just a while ago tried to rebuild one of my sites on Kirby and lost motivation and interest just halfway into it. The beauty of Bludit to me is being able to tweak and modify plugins, templates, ... the way I want or need without the whole system getting into my way all too much, and from that perspective, I still feel it works but I'm aware that this is a rather specific position to be in, so ... sorry it doesn't work well for you.

Of course, it is not without bugss, but other Flat File CMSs have far more bugs and problems.

Yes, I understand, it may be too simple for some, it doesn't have that many options. But apparently that's what Bludit is designed for.

Writing and maintaining code sets is a complex business. Keeping it lean and clean is not easy. Have a look through here...
