Hi!

I updated bludit, but I still have problems when I install newer versions of php on the server. It works fine under php 7.4, 8.x freezes. Is there an easier way to make it run without problems? The log file is not really meaningful to me. Does anyone know a good and simple solution for this?

Thanks

Do you update an existing installation or make a fresh one?

I run Bludit with PHP 8.3.24 without any problems.

I had an older version of Bludit, I updated it to the current one. But with the latest version of PHP, the site doesn't start, only with version 7.4. There are other sites and it would be good to update their PHP, but I don't know. Although I read it, I tried to find out from the log file, and also read it here in the forum, but it's no good. If I go to the current things page and start a fresh Bludit, it might be good, I just want to know if there is another solution.

Thanks

Which version was the older one?

Which plugins are installed? Have you tried it without the plugins? It could be that a plugin is not compatible.

Unfortunately, it's not the plugins that are at fault, you wrote this elsewhere and I read it too..

Please send me your installation as ZIP file. So I can have a look at it.

My plugin "Back to Top Button" is the cause of the problem. I have to update it.

To fix it please change the function init() in the file plugin.php (line 5) to

Code: Select all

	public function init()
	{
		// Fields and default values for the database of this plugin
		$this->dbFields = array(
		'color'=> '#343a40'
		);
	}
instead of

Code: Select all

	public function init()
	{
		// Fields and default values for the database of this plugin
		$this->dbFields = array(
		'color'=> '#343a40',
      	        'logo'=>none
		);
	}
