Stupid new user questions about remote content
Hi all,
I've done a little bit of looking around. I'm still to stupid to even know what to look for.
Once upon a time, long ago in a land far away, I used a doohicky called "Thingamablog" for my pathetic blogging efforts.
It was a local application, very static. Once you had created/edited a site/page/etc, Thingmablog would push the updated files via ftp to my ISP for display.
I've spelunked around here, and the closet thing I can find to that capability is the Remote Content plugin.
This might work, but I really don't want to involve Github in this if I can avoid it.
I've got a website, hosted on Ionos (I know, I know, they suck). I wanted to try Bludit out via a subdomain if possible. I've done something similar with Publii, but I have found that way to restrictive without learning a LOT about CSS and such.
Thanks for not laughing at me...
Chris

Great! But I still do not know what the problem was.

I totally get where you're coming from. I’ve used Bludit on a subdomain before, and it’s pretty easy to set up without getting too deep into CSS or other complex stuff. If you're trying to avoid Github, you can always just upload updates via FTP—no need for anything extra. I’ve used Ionos for hosting before, and while it’s not the best, it does the job for basic sites. Honestly, if you're looking for simplicity, Bludit is a solid choice, and you won’t have to deal with the steep learning curve like you would with something like Publii.
