My site has been offline for a while and in the interim I have upgraded the server to run Ubuntu Server 16.10 so I'm now running PHP 7.0. I find on re-activating the site I cannot alter anything in Admin. I have upgraded to the latest version but nothing has changed. Is this a permission error maybe?

It seems so. What permissions are set?

To be honest with you they shouldn't have changed from when it was working and saving. What has changed are the directory and file ownerships. Is this information stored somewhere?

I altered the permissions on the bl-content directory to 777 and I then received notifications that 3 files were causing an issue: posts, pages and site I think it was - found in the bl-content/database directory. I then altered their permissions to 666. I can now save settings and create new posts but if I attempt to alter existing posts they disappear. As long as I'm aware of this this shouldn't be an issue - repairable. I can create new posts and these behave fine.
