Can you explain what I could do with custom fields and is it something for developers only? (meaning, can I as a non-developer use this function)

I'm working on the documentation, you can take a look here https://docs.bludit.com/en/content/custom-fields
You can use the feature if you are not a developer, because the idea of the custom fields is add more fields to your pages.
Try the examples from the documentation.

Hi@all.
Thanks for custon fields, its great. And thanks for Dribbbles in SocialMedia configuration. I've added also youtube in the kernel files. I noticed that: In the file theme.class.php the entry for Dribbbles is still missing for use in Theme::socialNetworks().
Greetings,
Daniel.
