What does "Reading time" mean?

I cannot understand this function. Why and for what is it? :? Seems like not useful thing...

It's a feature, that a lot of blogs use. It's explained in the Changelog:
Reading time, returns the number of minutes takes to read a page.

Ok thank you. It does not work for me, it may be because of localhost so I wanted to know what it exactly does.

It depends from the theme you are using. Try with the new Theme Blog X.

Yes I did so after that I noticed this function... also tried to stay on page some time but the reading time is still the same as before (~1 minute). This is why I asked, because I was thinking it works in other way. ;) In this case I don't care because I put Bludit on localhost (maybe that's why). I will try to install it on real webhost.

Kaaleth is calculating base the number of words on the page, indicate an estimated amount of time in minutes to read the article.

~1 minute = means, takes approximately 1 minute to read the article.
