Auto compress text posts that are too long?

Hi! I want to have the title and a brief paragraph (or less) of text that you can then click that leads into your blog post. I'm using the editorial theme but I've noticed this on even the default themes.

It seems if your blog post is 5000 characters, the TOTAL post displays on the front page.

How do you fix this? Is there a plugin, or does this need to be coded?

Thanks!

Awh, it doesn't seem to work with the current theme I have active unfortunately. :/

I'm currently using the editorial theme. Does this theme support the pagebreak function?

I was using editorial v2 with bludit v3 and had to rollback to previous versions and now it works.

There are now two versions of the theme. Also one for Bludit 3.0.0.

I just updated the Editorial theme to support page break in the home page.
